MPS Credit Union is immediately looking to hire a Staff Accountant. Minimum 4 year degree in Accounting preferred.

The candidate will perform tasks necessary to balance and update general ledger and subsidiary accounts, maintain and reconcile daily cash accounts, and manage other accounting-related duties.  Prepare various accounting reports as required. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of the balancing of ATMs and related reports.  Includes verifying physical ATM balancing performed, printing settlement reports, preparing entries, recording activity and reconciling related general ledgers. 
  • Prepares all reports on Visa cash advances and Visa payments. Print settlement reports, prepare entries, record activities and reconcile related general ledgers.
  • Ensures appropriate approval obtained for vendor payments and determines appropriate general ledger account distribution.   Prepares properly authorized draft requests and invoices for payment and general ledger entry.  Research and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Record and reconcile daily and monthly investment activity. Post and reconcile the subsidiary records for the accrued income from investment accounts. Post investment interest received. Prepare report for the board of directors listing purchases and maturities/redemptions.
  • Responsible for reviewing and recording Corporate Credit Union daily activity.  Monthly, reconcile the Corporate account.
  • Verify and balance share draft returns and ACH to our corporate credit union clearing account on a daily basis.
  • Maintains record or sale of amusement park tickets, LoJack, collateral protection insurance, etc. Ensures sales tax payments made timely.
  • Record loan, visa and courtesy pay recoveries.  Monthly, classify recoveries in the allowance account.
  • Prepares reports on cashier’s checks monthly.
  • Assist with gathering information for quarterly/annual regulatory reports and other external audit.

MPS Credit Union is immediately looking to hire a Branch Manager for our Pinecrest Branch.  Minimum Associates Degree required or equivalent work experience.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be responsible for directing the operations of a remote credit union facility, ensuring the branch meets MPS Credit Union’s financial, lending, operational, service, and growth plans.
  • Oversee all branch activities to insure it’s in compliance with established credit union policies/procedures and financial regulations.
  • Act as a Loan Officer - underwriting consumer loans up to the amount assigned per credit union policy.
  • Direct, develop, motivate and discipline branch personnel.
  • Assists in promoting credit union products and services within our communities, SEGs, dealers, post offices and other settings.
  • Ensure the provision of superior service to the members and prospective members of MPS Credit Union by assigned staff.
  • Provide support and serve as part of the management team on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of credit union operations.
  • Enforces policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a source of knowledge, training and guidance to all branch employees.
  • Meet or exceed performance objectives

Candidate must be able to work on Saturdays.
